Position Summary

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to:

  • Own features end-to-end across our Vue.js frontend and Node.js backend

  • Push the boundaries of what LLMs can do in production

  • Shape our engineering culture as one of the first 5 engineers


Your Mission

As a Senior Engineer at AutoRFP.ai, you won't just write code. You'll build systems that need to understand context, maintain accuracy at scale, and deliver real automation to Fortune 500 companies.

In your first week you can expect to:

  • Ship a PR to production (preferably on your first day - we work to make sure everything is set up for your success from day 1)

  • Dive into our codebase

  • Meet the team and understand our customer problems firsthand


In your first month you can expect to:

  • Own your first feature from scoping through deployment

  • Work directly with customers to understand their workflows

  • Identify your first opportunities for technical improvements


In your first three months you can expect to:

  • Lead implementation of a major feature (e.g. AI Competitive Intelligence & Win Themes) or architectural improvement

  • Contribute to our development processes and technical standards

  • Start spotting second-order problems and proposing systemic fixes


In your first six months you can expect to:

  • Drive technical initiatives that directly impact customer experience and business metrics

  • Help scale our architecture to support our growing user base

  • Shape our engineering culture and influence how we hire


What we're looking for

  • Production engineering experience at senior level - You've built systems real customers depend on. You know the difference between prototype code and software that handles scale and chaos.

  • Full-stack capability - Comfortable across Vue.js and Node.js. You can dive into any part of the stack and figure it out.

  • Pragmatic problem-solving - You balance engineering excellence with shipping speed. You know when to build for scale and when to ship something simple today.

  • Systems thinking - You don't just fix bugs. You notice patterns, identify root causes, and build solutions that prevent entire categories of problems.

  • Comfort with healthy debate - You speak your mind, defend your position with reasoning, then commit fully once there's a decision, either way.

  • Genuine product curiosity - You have opinions about what we should build. You seek out answers to how things can be better, faster, and deliver more value for our customers.


We particularly value experience with document processing, enterprise SaaS, search systems, or production LLM applications - but we're more interested in your ability to learn quickly and ship quality software.

Brisbane CBD. You'll work 5 days in office with flexibility for appointments.

Compensation

$180,000-$220,000 base + super + performance bonus
