Software Engineer
On any given Tuesday, our platform might be handling RFPs for satellite companies, automating Security Questions for Silicon Valley unicorns, or summarising thousands of documents for Wall Street's biggest funds. Built model-agnostic from day one, deployed across 44 countries, growing 15% monthly. All with 4 engineers.
When was the last time Brisbane had a genuine shot at building a global enterprise AI platform?
Position Summary
We're looking for a Software Engineer who wants to grow fast by building production systems that matter. You'll work across our Vue.js frontend and Node.js backend, ship features that Fortune 500 companies rely on, and learn what it takes to build enterprise AI at scale.
Your Mission
At AutoRFP.ai, you won't be maintaining legacy code or building internal tools nobody uses. You'll ship features that need to understand context, maintain accuracy, and deliver real automation to some of the world's biggest companies.
You'll work alongside senior engineers who will push you technically, but you'll own real work from day one. No six-month onboarding programme. No "shadowing." Actual contribution, actual impact.
In your first week you can expect to:
Ship a PR to production (preferably on your first day - we set everything up for your success from day 1)
Dive into our codebase and start understanding how our AI pipeline works
Meet the team and hear directly from customers about their problems
In your first month you can expect to:
Own your first feature from scoping through deployment
Start developing intuition for how LLMs behave in production (not just in demos)
Identify areas where you can contribute beyond your immediate tasks
In your first three months you can expect to:
Independently deliver features that customers use daily
Contribute to technical discussions and code reviews with confidence
Start building expertise in a specific area of the platform
In your first six months you can expect to:
Take on increasingly complex technical challenges
Help shape development processes and standards
Be operating at a level most engineers don't reach until years into their career - because the environment demands it
What we're looking for
Production engineering experience - You've built and shipped software that real users depend on. Doesn't need to be at massive scale, but it needs to be real.
Full-stack willingness - You're comfortable working across Vue.js and Node.js, or you're ready to get comfortable quickly. We don't have separate frontend and backend teams.
Pragmatic mindset - You care about code quality but you also care about shipping. You understand that perfect is the enemy of done, and done is the enemy of learning.
Curiosity that won't quit - You dig into problems rather than routing around them. You ask why, not just how.
Comfort with direct feedback - We give honest feedback and expect the same back. If you think something's wrong, say so. Then commit to the decision once it's made.
Experience with document processing, enterprise SaaS, search systems, or LLM applications is a bonus. But we care more about your trajectory and your ability to learn under pressure than your CV.
The Culture
We've built a team of people who are genuinely good at what they do. We give direct feedback, ask hard questions, and trust each other to deliver. When things break, we own it and fix it together. When we ship something great, we celebrate.
This isn't a place to coast. But if you want to compress five years of growth into two, with people who care as much as you do, you'll love it here.
